Silesia - a region of heavy and smoky industry, poisoning soil and historical changes that was good nest of metal music. The year 1985 Heinrich Damian Beck as a very young vocalist with huge ambitions have desided to found a band with professional aims. For the collaboration he has invited young top musicians from the local bands. One of them was and still is until today, guitar player and composer Christoph Blaszak. During the next tree years DAMA PIK (it was the first name of the band, later shortened into PIK) have played a large numbers of live shows. As well they were presentated on radio and TV mainly on the Silesia territory where the band was well-known. In the end of year 1987 the band have began preparations for the production of their debut album. But it was canceled and in the begining of 1988 mastermind Heinrich D.Beck have decided to move to Germany. The band split up. As the years passed by, the members met on various occasions,but it was not untill Christoph Blaszak guested on stage during a H.D.Project performance that the two realized that the synergy effect between them still was somewhat magic. The band reformed as PIK and in 1996 launched their "Mysterious Stones" demo tape. With great responses to their well produced gloomy doom metal material. As well PIK have played several shows. One of them was on the Metalmania Festival 99 in Katowice where PIK have played with bands like Tiamat, Samael, The Gathering ......in front of more then 5000 metalfans. PIK entered the studio once again to record their 97 demo "Mankind the Unsuccesful Experiment". The responce from the media was overwhelming, for instence German Deftone Magazine praised it to the skies. The band got first deal offers. PIK have decided to sign the contract with Mighty Music who released the debut PIK album "The Heritage of past Gods" in 1998. The album was reviewed in all importent metal medias worldwide and have received mostly great reviews. For instance German Rock Hard called the Heritage.... as a "on of the best doom albums since a long time". In the same year PIK also played shows with bands like Morbid Angel, Canibal Corpse, Samael and many more. The highlight of 99 was for PIK European Tour with Immolation in 11 Countries.
