October 2007 > Mighty Music sub-label Drug[s] resigns MEVADIO!!
Mevadio is back – older, stronger and heavier then ever before!
The new album "Fresh Kill Daily” is a result of a band that doesn’t ride the band wagon and who is not a slave of the sounds of the moment.
This gives the album a timeless quality in the midst of metal-by-the-numbers bands that seem to be born every 5 seconds.
Mevadio’s focus is quality song writing, great riffs, catchy melodies and brutal beats.

Mevadio´s first album "Hands Down” opened eyes and ears throughout Europe. With extremely positive reviews, international release, a performance at Roskilde Festival and tours with Raunchy and Hatesphere, Mevadio received the recognition and respect that their talent deserves. After more than a year’s song writing and recordings, Mevadio is back with an album that solidifies their talent. “Fresh Kill Daily” will without a doubt boost the band into the European premier league.
The album is produced by the Danish super producer Tue Madsen (Sick of It All, Hatesphere, Raunchy etc.).
A&R representative for Drug(s) and Target Distribution, Mikkel Wad Larsen, states: “After a break from each other, it is a pleasure to have Mevadio back in the Drug(s) family. Mevadio play melodic metal of a rare quality and originality and we believe that “Fresh Kill Daily” will be one of the most important albums in 2008 within the genre. On a personal note I am extremely happy with Mevadio being my first A&R project at Drug(s)/ Target. They are a band I have known and respected for years”
Morten Kruger, lead singer and spokesperson for Mevadio states: “Mevadio in 2007 is harder and more aggressive than ever before and all the elements of music really stand out now. The fast parts are faster, the heavy parts are heavier and the melodies really hit hard. All of this is put into a brutal riff-machine, that merciless mixes Cult references with Slayer references. Mevadio is really psyched about the revived cooperation with Drug(s)/Target and our expectations are sky high”.
”Fresh Kill Daily” is slated for European release in late spring/early summer of 2008.

THE PAST:

1995-1997:
The early years…
The band was formed in Herning, Denmark as a trio and named
FACING A BORING DAY -abbreviated F.A.B.D. The members Michael,
Ivan and Kenneth were heavily inspired by late 80´s/ early
90´s Heavy and Thrash Metal, but they were also deeply
into the Hardcore scene. Therefore their music ended up being
stylistically placed somewhere in between these genres…
Due to the members’ other musical engagements everything
moved really slowly, but F.A.B.D. did produce a genuine demo
tape. It sucked big-time and was (luckily) never publiced. In
late 1997 things started to happen - new and improved material
was written, - and in november the band auditioned with front-dude
Morten a.k.a. Kruger, who joined forces with the guys.
1998:
With the new line-up the boys recorded their first “real”
demo. The sound and style were defined and it really set the
band on fire. Frankly the demo wasn’t that great, but
it inspired everyone to work harder and the band scored it’s
first gig. The gig was in May and F.A.B.D. supported Danish
Death Metal act KONKHRA, who by that time featured Per M. Jensen
(The Haunted) on drums, and James Murphy (Obituary) on guitar.
The rest of this year was spent writing and writing, experimenting
with melodic things…and messing around…and stuff...
1999:
In February the collaboration between the band and producer
Tue Madsen began. Together they entered Borsing Recording,Aarhus
Denmark, to record the bands first promo-cd. Four tracks were
recorded, and the promo was simply named FACING A BORING DAY.
Hardcore elements were still very much present in the music,
but melodies and harmonic parts had begun to melt in naturally.
It was highly critically acclaimed and received great feedback
from the underground scene. The band played gigs with Grope,
Jerkstore a.o. and established themselves in the underground
scene.
2000:
The millenium year was spent writing new material and thriving
on the succelful promo… They did do a low budget demo
in the spring though. It contained five tracks one of which
was “Living Dead”. Very few copies were made of
this out-put (which was recorded intoxicated by Tuborg and Gammel
Dansk)... 2001: The MEVÂDIO year… Writing, writing
and writing - and playing gigs, was the agenda of the first
six months this year. Kruger and Kenneth moved to Aarhus, DK
also… Then in July the band teamed up with Tue Madsen
once again to record Promo #2, and this time at Tue’s
very own Antfarm Recording studio.
The five-track EP was entiteled “Living Dead”…
The material was more varied, and the melodic parts played a
greater role, while the hardcore was toned down making way for
a more metal approach to take over.
While being in the studio F.A.B.D. decides to change their name…And
one day in Tue’s kitchen someone said “MEVÂDIO”…..And
that was it!..It sounded great, it was easy to pronounce, and
it didn’t mean a fucking thing. (That is, in the beginning
they thought it meant “My Neighbourhood”..but hey
- it didn’t..)
Anyway, once again the material was critically acclaimed, a
lot of copies were sold, and this time the band - now MEVÂDIO-
came to peoples lips.
The fall and winter was spent playing as many clubs as possible.
MEVÂDIO shared the stage with the likes of Mustach(S),
Grope, Jerkstore, Johnny Hefty a.m.o. Different record labels
stated paying attention, but nothing was ever finished..
2002:
A few gigs with Nil By Mouth were carried out early this year,
and a very succesful event at Club Supercrush with Grope as
well. Then for the third time Tue and MEVÂDIO did it again.
Three tracks were recorded at the (Ant)Farm in the summer and
this time every thing was uploaded on the internet, and simply
avaliable for free. And it wasn’t around for very long
until Danish Metal label Mighty Music reacted. The label seemed
violently interrested and things ended with MEVADIO doing a
showcase for them in november t TEX, Copenhagen DK.
Michael and Ivan moved to Aarhus too…Finally The band
corresponded and negotiated with the label the rest of the year,
while writing material for the forthcomming debut album.
2003:
Then here we are.. And the year isn’t even over yet…
MEVÂDIO signed with Mighty Musics subdivision Drug(S)
in February and booked April for the making of the debut at
Tue’s Antfarm right away..And this time it’s for
fucking real dudes and dudettes!!!
And what a crazy month! The band entered the studio on march
28th and the 30th they were headhunted as support for fricking
SEPULTURA on april 4th…!!!
…Of course MEVADIO agreed to do the slot, and flied out
of the studio to enter the stage in front of a roaring crowd
at a totally jam-packed Voxhall, Aarhus DK. And after the gig
of their lives it’s back into the studio…
The album was concieved, mixed, mastered and everything in early
May and everyone was veeery happy. The album was named “HANDS
DOWN”.
MEVADIO played the SPOT 09 Festival in late May and the forthcomming
single “Life Through The Eyes of a Crooner” was
booked on to Danish music magazine Gaffa’s “Club
Gaffa Cd #5” .
And as you all know the September 22nd “HANDS DOWN”
was released.
