US death mongers...

F L E S H T I Z E D

The members of Fleshtized initially came together in May of 1996 with the intent of creating music that was fast, heavy and technical. During that time the band was heavily influenced by bands like Death, Slayer, and At The Gates. There were a few member name changes and member changes that took place and in the fall of 1997 the band took on the monicker FLESHTIZED and it has been ever since. The band first released a 6-song promo in early 1997 under the name Chaos Symphony which was a rough effort, but it was surprisingly well received and was a good starting point for the band's recording career. During this time the band was also hard at work playing local shows and branching out once in a while to play out of state gigs. Many shows were done with well-known underground bands of that day like Wilhaven, Master, and Excruciating Pain. The band re-entered the studio in January of 1998 to record the 3-song "Tower of Pain" demo which proved to be big step for the band. This was a critical year for FLESHTIZED as "Tower..." was promoted widely and received astonishing reviews from all zines that were important in the underground during this year. The number of out of state shows increased and the FLESHTIZED name was being seen everywhere. The band managed to secure an opening slot for the Nile/Incantation tour of 98' and the mailbox overflowed with letters and orders for the demo from all over the world. Riding high from the steam of "Tower..." 1999 saw FLESHTIZED release the first self financed cd called "Divide and Conquer". Although it wasn't released until October of that year, by the end of December 99' nearly all of the pressing had been moved. This year also saw Fleshtized securing more slots in high profile shows with the likes of Morbid Angel, Immolation, Incantation and shows like the St. Louis Slaughterfest opening for bands like Internal Bleeding, Jungle Rot and Fleshgrind. Fleshtized was quickly becoming known as a powerful live band. Hardly any shows were played at home that year. The band went through 8 months of shows all over the Southeast in cities like Nashville, TN., Louisville, KY., Atlanta, GA., Birmingham, AL. and Pensacola, Fl. to name a few. Nothing was released during 2000 except the song "Choice of Consequence" which was on the Razorback Records comp. "A Hogwild Tale of Terror". The better part of this year was spent promoting the remainder of the "Divide and Conquer" c.d. and preparing for the recording of "Here Among Thorns". Again Many high profile shows were played including gigs with Goatwhore, Vader, Angel Corpse, Krisiun, Fleshgrind, Regurgitation as well as appearances at the Ohio Death Fest and Milwaukee Metal fest. Hopefully the future will be consistent with the past and things will continue to grow for Fleshtized. At this point FLESHTIZED has played in over 120 shows in 10 different states and have moved 2,500 copies of music worldwide. The year 2001 looks to continue in this pattern.

The debut album "Here Among Thorns" was released by Mighty Music in September 2001.
