ECITON With the release of their second album "A Scent of Veracity" ECITON has taken fast and catchy brutality to the edge and mixed it with technical riffs. The theme revolves around man's mental state and double standards, illustrated in an ironic way both through the lyrics and cover artwork. The Danish death metal band ECITON was formed in 2000 by musicians that over the past 12 years have been involved in numerous death metal bands and projects, with the clear intention to play brutal and uncompromising death metal. In 2003 the band signed up for the Danish Melo-Death Grand Prix, which was the biggest competition in Scandinavia for unsigned metal bands. ECITON won the competition which became the foundation for the already recorded CD "Oppressed by Contempt" produced and mixed by Lars Schmidt (Konkhra, Furious Trauma). It was released in 2005 through the French label Adipocere Records under the title "Oppressed". After a series of line-up changes, partly because of bassist Soren Maiboes untimely death, ECITON started to write new material which in 2006 sent them into Ear Plug studio. The recordings were abruptly interrupted when the band once again was hit by misfortune when drummer Eskil Frantzen tragically died. Shortly after Jesper Frost (Iniquity) joined ECITON and the final recordings of band's second album took place during 2007-2008. In 2008, a pre-mix of three tracks was made in Hertz studio in Poland by Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy (Vader, Decapitated, Hate) and later mastered by Jacob Olsen in JBO Sound, Denmark. Jacob Olsen delivered such a good result that ECITON decided to mix the entire album with him in his recording studio in Aarhus. From mid-April 2010 ECITON will play a series of concerts around in Denmark and Europe, where they will present the music from "A Scent of Veracity". The album that will take you to the edge and make you beg for more...
