[ C O R P S E V O M I T ]
CORPSE VOMIT was formed in the early nineties and consisted
of the three piece: Molesting Mike (vokills and drums), Anal
Al (guitars) and Cape Cum (bass). Being influenced mainly by
Autopsy and a few other reeking old school sounding death metal
bands of that period (plus lots of alcohol and drugs) CORSE
VOMIT was a reality. The
band used quite a lot of time in the rehearsal room smooking
weed, drinking beer and rehearsing a little bit now and then.
A few years after the formation the band decided to make their
first ever recording which turned out to be the self titled
demo tape in 1993, which was never officially released due to
the bad sound quality and lousy playing. It was however spread
amoung friends in the Danish death metal underground and the
response was mutual; Noone had ever heard any death metal band
sounding as wasted and disgusting as CORPSE VOMIT!
The band
then continued rehearsing and as years went by the three guys
finally realized they had enough material to record a full lenght
album. There was just one problem.... Molesting Mike's abilities
behind the drumkit were way too incompetent to record an actual
album and furthermore CORPSE VOMIT found it essential to include
a second guitarist since Anal Al was far from able to play well
enough alone. So Caco Cezo (guitars) and Murder (drums) completed
the line-up. The
recording and mixing of CORPSE VOMIT's debut album "Drowning
In Puke" took place in four days between Christmas and
New Year's Eve in 1998 in Soundzone Studios in Copenhagen. "Drowning
In Puke" was produced, engineered and mixed by Captain
Schmidt (also known as Lars Schmidt or Cut Throat/Mutilator).
All in all it turned out to be 9 of the CORPSE VOMIT's own songs
plus the classic Autopsy track "Gasping For Air".
Everything recorded in extremely intoxicated conditions.
CORPSE VOMIT
was visited by several friends in the studio and some even agreed
to lay down guest solos. Those included 2 x M. Stützer
(also known as Morten and Michael - from Artillery and Missing
Link) and Joey Fernandez, who previously and currently is helping
out Furious Trauma, Daemon and Konkhra with guitar assistence.
The two label managers of MIGHTY MUSIC also turned up in the
studio and due to the Christmas and New Year's Eve spirit they
were convinced and pursuaded to sign CORPSE VOMIT to their company.
But
it turned out to be one of the most difficult releases for MIGHTY
MUSIC so far! Mainly because CORPSE VOMIT insisted on using
their good friend Freak On A Leash as artist for the cover artwork
and secondly because they wanted to use the most bizarre, obscure
intros from their favourite porno movies! This resulted in the
fact that "Drowning In Puke" kept on being censored
everywhere. First of all by two CD printing companies (Sonopress
and Tocano) and also certain German medias refused to include
the cover artwork in MIGHTY MUSIC's advertisements! "Drowning
In Puke" did however, after ,more than half a year of delay,
finally see the light of day, and it caused a lot of attention
around the international underground - for instance it was "Arschbombe
des Monats" in Germany's Rock Hard!
